Discussions have been taking place for some time now about a proposed development on a large site at 24 Main Road in the Mowbray CBD (the site of the old Savoy Cinema, opposite Shoprite).
The development involves an application for re-zoning and departures for a new building comprising student accommodation and business premises. The plan is for the new building to be structured into three separate blocks or quads of 7, 6 and 5 storeys each, with parking levels below.
Anyone who wants to see a full copy of the application may do so at the office of the City Council offices of the District Manager, Department: Planning &Building Development Management at 3 Victoria Road, Plumstead.
Anyone who feels they may be affected by the proposal or has an interest in it may comment or object to the application. These comments must be submitted to the City Council on or before Monday 14 October 2013 (see details below).
